What size welcome sign do I need?

One of the questions I get asked the most is..."What size welcome sign should I get?"
Honestly? It's a great question!
Unless you've planned an event before, how are you supposed to know what will look amazing once it's sitting on an easel at your venue? So here's the advice I find myself giving time and time again.

My go-to recommendation? A2 (594 x 420mm) which is readily available and easy to frame or for a custom size I love a 500 x 700mm - the perfect size.

If you're not quite sure where to start, I'd usually recommend an A2 size - depending on your event, of course!
Why? Because it's one of those sizes that just works.
It's large enough to catch your guests' attention as they arrive, but not so big that it takes over the space. It suits most venues, fits standard easels beautifully and is perfect for small birthday gatherings, baby showers, engagements, First Holy Communions, and just about every celebration in between.
And bigger isn't always better...I know it's easy to think a bigger sign will always look more impressive.
Sometimes it does!
But if you're celebrating in a smaller venue, an oversized sign can actually feel out of place. Your welcome sign should complement your celebration, not compete with it.

On the flip side, if you're planning a larger wedding or your venue has a grand entrance, an A1 (594 x 841mm) or A0 (841x x 1189mm) welcome sign can create a beautiful statement and looks stunning in photos. And they really do create the WOW response from guests!

Acrylic or Foamboard...or a poster print?

This is another question I hear all the time!This one really comes down to where your sign will be displayed and how you'd like it to look.
💛 Acrylic - If you're dreaming of that modern, elegant look, acrylic is hard to beat. It's a beautiful keepsake after the celebration and perfect for weddings or milestone events where you want a premium finish. It can also be re-useable or on-sold if you use the right vinyl application.
🤍 Foamboard - Foamboard is the "best of both worlds" option. It's lightweight, sturdy, affordable and looks fantastic on an easel, making it a popular choice for birthdays, baby showers, engagements and one-day celebrations.
🩷 Poster Print - Already have a frame or stand at home? A poster print is a budget-friendly option that still looks beautiful when framed. It's also easy to roll up and transport, making it ideal if you're displaying it yourself.
💜 HTV Iron-On Decal (for the DIY adventurers!) - Feeling a little creative and want to make your own sign? For the brave DIY lovers, I can create your custom design as an HTV (heat transfer vinyl) iron-on decal so you can apply it yourself to fabric, canvas or your chosen surface.
This is a great option if you already have a fabric backdrop, want to create something reusable, or just love a good DIY project.

There really isn't a wrong choice. Think about your venue, your budget and how you want your sign to be displayed. My Best Tip? Don't choose your sign based on what everyone else is doing.
